The GrandMothers of Invention is more than a tribute band to the original Mothers of Invention, they are since their inception in 1981, comprised of THE original Mothers of Invention. Sadly, though the last decade has seen the passing of several members of this legendary/revolutionary band, two remain, strong and committed to playing the music of its founder, Frank Zappa. Their current lineup features Don Preston, keyboards, key-bass, mini moogs, lead vocals, commentary, rice cookers - Bunk Gardner, Tenor Saxophone, Flute, vocals, commentary, swimming goggles - Christopher Garcia, drums, vocalese percussion, vocals, commentary, & special guest, Ed Mann on percussion, marimba & vibes. Tracks 1 thru 6, 12 recorded live at the Torrance City Library, 11/29/2017, tracks 7,8,9,10 recorded at Zoo Studios, 2017. Track 11 comes from Ed Mann at an undisclosed location, sometime between now and then, & tracks 13 & 14 were recorded live at Craig's Place.
